Book this tour Gift VoucherThroughout the day, you can enjoy tasting over 18 spectacular cool-climate wines, with the option of a delicious lunch. You will be well looked after and hosted by an Altitude guide in the company of a small group. Be prepared to be educated and entertained while tasting great wines!
Start your day being met by your wine-certified guide at or near your Queenstown accommodation. From there, you’ll travel to the Gibbston wine region, home to amazing wineries, award-winning winemakers, and known for Pinot Noir, but try a range of varieties on our sampler tour.
Gibbston Valley Winery
Our first location is the iconic Gibbston Valley Winery. Gibbston Valley is one of the region’s founding wineries and it’s here that you will discover the first grapes planted in the region. As well, join a guided tour through New Zealand’s largest wine cave and enjoy tastings of some of their world-famous wines.
Kinross
Kinross represents a range of fantastic wines from multiple winemakers across the region, along with producing their own. After your wine tasting, we allow extra time to enjoy lunch at the Kinross Bistro. Kinross has a range of delicious dishes on its menu, including pizzas, platters, smaller bites, and mains. This is ordered and paid directly on the day, giving you the flexibility to order what you would like based on your taste and budget.
Mt Rosa Wines
Mt Rosa is a boutique owner-operated winery and their stunning location is situated just below the impressive Nevis Bluff. Sitting in the vines, their newly built woolshed style cellar door pays homage to their sheep farming history. Now nestled among the vines, taste their delicious, single estate, hand-picked wines. Their mulled wine is a customer highlight this winter!
The Church Cellar Door
We finish our tasting tour at the historic Church Tasting Room. This is a picturesque location, with large medieval-style windows set on sweeping grounds once served as a small church, now repurposed to a gorgeous cellar door, representing Mount Edward wines. Mount Edward are a family-run producer in Gibbston growing small batches from single vineyard sites. Taste their Pinot Noir, Gamay, Chardonnay, and Chenin.
